Laimonchat for external requesters

Laimonchat lets a person outside your team, such as a client or department head, file requests and bugs in plain language and follow their status, without seeing the Kanban.

What is Laimonchat?

The requester-facing chat of Laimonade. You invite a person outside your team by email with the role requester. After they accept and sign in, they describe a request or a bug in plain language, and Laimon files it as a backlog item in your project. They follow its status in a My requests list and in the same thread.

It is a third way to file work, next to Slack and the MCP server. All three go through the same create path, so epic linking and the urgency by impact priority matrix apply to a request filed in Laimonchat exactly as they do to one filed from Slack.

What a requester sees

After signing in, a requester sees two things:

  • Laimonchat, the thread where they describe requests and read Laimon's replies.
  • My requests, the list of the requests they filed, each with its reference and status.

What a requester does not see

No Kanban, no roadmap, no settings, no team pages, no Slack, and no items filed by other people. The navigation they get has nothing else in it.

Filing a request

  1. The requester writes what they need or what is broken, in their own words.
  2. Laimon files it as a backlog item in the same way it does for Slack and MCP, linking it to an epic and setting its priority from the urgency by impact matrix.
  3. The item is flagged as external, so your team can tell it came from a requester.
  4. The requester gets a reference, for example REQ-AB12CD, and uses it to follow the request.

Status meanings

Each request shows one of five states, and a message is sent when it changes.

StatusMeaning
ReceivedThe request was filed as a backlog item.
PlannedThe item is in a sprint.
In progressWork on the item has started.
In reviewThe work is being reviewed.
LiveThe deployment signal says the work is live in production.

Live comes from deployment tracking: the Cloudflare and Fly.io deploy tracking you connect under Integrations. If the project has no deployment tracking connected, an item that your team marked Done is shown as live with a label saying the team marked it done and no deployment confirmed it.

Messages arrive in the Laimonchat thread and by email.

What replies never contain

Laimon's replies to a requester speak only about that requester's own requests and their status. They never contain:

  • pull request links
  • branch names
  • teammate names
  • other items

Inviting a requester

  1. Open Team settings as the team owner or an administrator.
  2. Invite the person by email and choose the role requester.
  3. The person accepts the invitation and signs in. They land in Laimonchat.

Seeing and revoking access

The tenant owner sees external requesters under Team settings and can revoke a requester's access at any time. Revoked people lose access immediately.

  • Integrations, for the Cloudflare and Fly.io deployment tracking behind the Live status.
  • Sprint workflow, for what Planned, In progress and In review mean for the item itself.
